Can Beginners Do HYROX?

The short answer is yes. The longer answer is about how a class is coached, and what your first few weeks should actually look like.

Everything scales

Loads, distances and movements are all adjustable. A beginner and a returning racer can run the same session at very different intensities and both get exactly what they need out of it.

Your first class

Arrive a few minutes early. A coach walks you through the format, shows you the stations you haven't used before, and sets your working weights. Sixty minutes: warmup, strength or skill, conditioning, cooldown.

The first few months

Consistency beats intensity early. Two to three coached sessions a week, some easy running, and patience with technique will move you further than redlining every day. If a race is the goal, tell your coach — programming and simulations can be pointed at that date.
